Fire Safety by Design

• The primary function of the Won-Door FireGuard system is to provide fire safety. FireGuard has undergone rigorous testing to ensure that it remains on the cutting edge of fire protection products.

• The FireGuard system is the only accordion style horizontal sliding fire door on the UK market, which can be installed into openings of virtually unlimited widths, and heights up to 7mts.

• Unlike conventional fire rated doors, FireGuard is installed in the open position, and when not in use, stacks away neatly into a wall pocket allowing corridors to remain clear, staircases open, and access routes free.

• Once FireGuard is activated and in fire mode, the door automatically closes across the opening. To pass through the closed door, simply the large green exit bars located on either side, and the door will open to a pre-determined width, allowing the escape of the occupants, pause, and then re-close automatically back across the opening.

ONCE IN FIRE MODE THE DOOR WILL ALWAYS SEEK TO CLOSE ACROSS THE OPENING, AFTER BEING OPENED.

Further features included a pressure sensitive lead post, fire fighters window, red eye sensors and security features.

The system was originally designed to accommodate the efficient escape from buildings of the less able bodied and those in wheel chairs. The Fire Exit Hardware, which is shown as the large green push pads can be sited at any point along the doors length, making it accessible to all.

Like conventional lift doors, Won-Door FireGuard's Pressure Sensitive Leading Edge will stop the door immediately it comes into contact with any obstruction. The door will pause for 3 seconds and then close back across the opening. This feature prevents anyone from becoming trapped in the path of the door, and allows fire fighters hose reels to pass through the door without becoming trapped.

The door can also be manually pushed open, right back across the opening if required, this does not affect the door and after pausing the door will always seek to close back across the opening.

State-of-the-art components

A control unit located behind the door in the wall pocket provides constant door status monitoring from a central location. The position of each door in the system can be determined at a glance as well as the condition of all backup DC batteries. Alarms sound as the door closes and sound as a beep once FireGuard is in fire mode. Beep patters also alert the building owner to any problems with any component of the partition, therefore allowing an instant diagnosis and remedy.
